Hi I've got the iPhone 3GS which was locked to O2 I paid O2 15 pound to have it unlocked which I assume is same as factory unlock but since it's been done my signal randomly drops and says searching before coming back on I had no probs when it was on O2 so was wondering is it a handset or network problem ? |

That's weird to be honest. The antenna has got nothing to do with if the phone is locked or not. However I suggest to test it out properly against another iPhone 3GS or 4 on the same network at the same place. Otherwise Apple Store is always there to get it exchanged.

It's out of warranty now I think I went to apple shop and spoke to a guy there he said its a network problem I'm on t-mobile and apparently because t-mobile and orange are sharing signal what happens is when t-mobile goes out of 3G coverage instead of going onto 2g automatically the signal just drops and. Ones up searching before registering on the network again

I've tried turning 3G off and amazingly I get full signal on 2g so I'm assuming the 3G signals a bit cr*p at the moment due to the networks tinkering
