Re Neal Morse, he does seem to put out a neverending stream of material, one of the top talents in the field at the moment. .and mr Portnoy must be constantly engaged as drummer for his various mates, he's just on everything. .

As for his god mentioning, i didnt know that. .doesnt that just do your nut though when you buy an album and the artist/band decide to use it to force feed you doctrine . .like we cant make up our own minds. .just a couple of months ago i picked up a Chick Corea album, hoping to hear some skillful Jazz fusion, and he's banging on about L Ron Hubbard. .

i think i felt physically sick. .i mean, politics and spirituality are common themes in music but i dont see the need to say in the intro to your album. .hey folks im a big scientologist. .surely thats taking your platform and beating people around the head with it. At what point does expression in music become inappropriate? Im not sure, its an interesting subject.

As for the PoS album, yeh there was a lot of hyperbole. .but it was worth posting for sure, even just for the mind boggling prospect of a disco track. .but from what ive heard Gildenlow has quite a strong pop sensibility..some moments of Be or Remedy Lane could be straightforward chart fare. .of course thats what makes them different. .theres an appreciation of every genre under the sun on display

With these concepts, it seems that each one is a culmination of lots of ideas that formed organically etc, im a bit confused by it all. .they seem to be loose strands of theories and experiences, but are they understandable beyond the very generalised way that Gildenlow talks about them?

Haha you got me there. .well to me Dream Theater is more acessable, maybe thats the prog fan view. .i dont know. .the roots of it are quite conventional, whatever new elements they put on top. .i hear them and i have reference points, i open files in the brain marked 'metal' , 'prog' 'Rush' etc. .with PoS, i hear it and. .file not found. .as familiar the styles are, the way they blend and. .

. . .subtely incorporate them all. ..as ive said. Ive heard far less of PoS and my version of Be isnt finished. .so it wouldnt be fair to judge. In the middle of the night when i want a music dvd, im reaching for Score rather than Be. .just immediacy. They both work for different moods, perhaps Pos has the potential to be better with more to go on. .but at the moment i prefer Dream Theater
