@ shreds50 - 29.12.19 - 04:51pm I just saw the UK singles chart this week (available on the web), and 90pc of the top 20 were old re released Xmas songs. Mariah Carey was at 2 and Wham at 3. Even Shakin Stevens was at 7. It begs the question where are the new songs in music? Where are the new ideas? Music has gone so stale that most of us crave nostalgia because there is nothing around of quality now. Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You is one of the most popular songs of all time. According to the Economists, the song has already netted Carey more than 60 million in royalties. It seems to be only getting bigger......and every year this time she just makes more and more |
