Hi. Cud url help me out. My alarm on my bmw e36 328i stopped working n so did da remote central locking. Im lukn 2 fix it but 1st i need 2 find it. I read around n it said behind da glove box. I opened n checkd but dnt know which box it is. How do i identify it? |

you have to take the glove box out completely to find the alarm and general module which works you central locking.

if the remote key isnt working then it sounds like you need a new general module from bmw. For an e46 supplied and fitted by bmw your looking at around 300GBP. Does it not work at all or just on really hot/cold days?

make sure there isnt an open circut in the bcm. thats what happened to my car. had to get it replaced

Black Mamba is always an good alarm system. Lol. Did u took the car to the dealers? They wouldnt ask u much just to check what is wrong then u can work from there on..

i had to take my commodore to my local mechanic because i couldnt lock it via central locking, alarm and immobiliser wouldnt switch on, air con wouldnt work and remote boot release wouldnt work. And it was because of one fryed circurt in the bcm. As soon as they fixed the fault all things have worked tickaty boo. I would suggest you take it to your local mechanic and they should be able to rectify
