Could be from the uk as he owns a spares shop and imports alot of stuff from the uk, will make a point of it to ask him when i see him

Lets forget about that 16v head for a while.What about any mods to the pistons,conrods and crank if possible.Any suggestions ? Lightened flywheel has a disadvantage though when approaching a uphill.

Yeah,it had since changed colour and will be going on gumtree as soon as im finished,then i wil be getting a mk1 or mk2 1.6 escort and a mini clubman body

it depends on wat u using the car 4 i guess. im using 1300 pistons with +60 overbore and 288 cam with a port matched big valve head with twin 40s and electronic distributor. its still reliable and can b used everyday. theres alot of specs u can try depends on the purpose. u can also get a stroked crank or datsun crank can fit with some machining. it'll give u around 1900cc. i got some stuff 4 sale pm if interested

Any1 know the formulae for calculating cubic capacity based on bore and stroke etc ? 1900cc for a kent motor sounds awesome.Wonder how that will go with a turbo added on for some extra boost.

Those 1300cc pistons wouldnt by any chance be from a Audi A3 ? Say what you like the Kent motor is a fine piece of machinery.Tough as hell.

Id say d most imported thing to do to a kent motor b4 moddin it, is to flow nd balance every piece of it. Gettin d ruffness outa a kent nd make it smooth aint to difficult! I hav a prob wit a hotcam on a motor wit a cast iron cyl head.. D return of d exhaust valve does huge damage to d exhaust valveseat wen run by a hotcam. Also another advantage of d kent motor is u get steel cylhd gaskets fo dem
