first she was startin but as soon as de throttle released she cuts off,so i cleaned de throttle ,butterfly full sludge,de 1.8i 8valve lump now starts n holds rev at about 2k wit accelerator depressed,then rev drops slowly to 1,1k,then if u rev her up she get stuck 2k again n drop 1,1k slowly,started |

all sudden one morning,i think the idle air control valve faulty,but i can't find it,de is a sensor on the manufold i suspect faulty but the goldwagen guy wants R1,7k

yeah once it did backfire when de throttle was opened,but once so far in past 3 days,i gonna check the timing out tomorrow,i suspect i vac pipe is out somewhere,but was hopin maybe de is a common vw prob one of de veedub guys would pointed out like faulty sensor or control valve

Bull ! D carz ecu wudnt sort itself.. U need to do sum tests bro. 1st of al, take a fuelpressure test. U need rougly 4bar. 2ndly, take voltage reading from d 3wires on d afm nd then c*m back to me. Il check in later again..

Idle control valves are quite common fault on cars mainly fords . The pin sticks causing the revs to be eratic and varying between 800 and 1500 . You want to check the throttle potentiometer usually located on the side of the throttle body
