Buy him a tool set! Men love fixing things.

Have Dinner Ready - Plan first. Even if its a day before. This is to let him know you are thinking about him and concerned about his needs especially after he had a long day at work. Men are tired and a good dinner does wonders!

Prepare Yourself - Take 15 minute rest so you will be refreshed when he arrives. Touch-up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Be a little cheery, little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift.

Clear The Clutter and Prepare The Children - Clean up your house, clear the toys, books, clothes if its lying around the house. Sweep the floor and mop your room. Comb your children hair and clean their hands (if they are young) and change their clothes if neccesary. Your husband will feel like he has reached a haven of rest and to see his treasures all clean and neat, he will be impressed by you for taking good care of them.

Eliminate all noise; when he comes home, its not a good idea to turn on the washer, the vacuum, dishwasher etc. This could stress him out. Encourage the children to be quiet as well. Greet him with a warm smile and be glad to see him.

Don't greet him with problems of complaints. Don't complain if he is late for dinner. Count this as minor compared with what he might have gone through during the day. Make him comfortable. Let him relax on the sofa and have a cool drink made for him. Arrange his pillows and offer to remove his coat/shoes for him.
