ok now that im back in usa, tought the gpu's would be cheap, but no. why are they so expensive? 1300 dollor for an rtx 3060ti? really? a msi laptop with a rtx 3070 ,intel 11 th gen costs around 1600 dollar. so confused, i wanted to upgrade my gtx 1050ti with the rtx 3060ti its even more expensive in india than US and i dont even think its worth 1300 dollars..why so expensive? i even see the gtx 1050ti selling for like 250-300 dollars |

Mining and scalping has messed up the prices. Will be back to normal soon so i would wait. If supply catches up and crypto stonks then we will have them back to msrp. I will wait until i get a 3080 for 800euros and will not pay a cent more for it.

Right now even the 2000 and 1000 series is not worth it. Prices are mad. Should wait out all this nonsense before upgrading the gpu. Im sitting on my 1080ti hoping it wont die The rtx 3000 does do ray tracing and dlss better. Performance boost overall is awesome. a 3070 beats a 2080ti. Just like the 1070 beat a 980ti. The 2070 failed to beat the 1080ti tho. |

its not about beating other gpu's its about being efficent in power use and the use of that power to deliver better core speeds and voltage limits, as for the OP , upgrading to a trx 3060 will be a massive improvement over teh 1050 ti. reason why gpu's are expensive is this . nvidia and the likes buy up factory slots on a guestimate on how many gpu's they will sell say like 2 million units , but covid had everyone at home thats billions of people now wanting to upgrade or play games

But this causes a probem the card makers only expected 2 milllion sales, and now they have 8 million people wanting the 2 million cards they have in the factory, BUT the problem is those factory slots ahve already been purchesed for other companys wanting products made ie silicon wafers, now theres a problem, the factorys cant pump out or have enough capability to produce the products fast enough and hence you have a backlog and a slower from wafer to market supply .

Marketing a faster gaming card always wins the ppl over. Ppl want better framerate and visuals. They make there cards more efficient just to pack in more power in the same size of silicone. Gpus are more expensive because of scalpers and miners buying up all the decent gaming cards. Also there are companies taking advantage of the situation. |
