so i hook the old radio power lead to both the memory and power on the cd player? does that mean the cd will always be on?

yes, the radio will not switch off if you switch the car off.

also, the orange wire says youre supposed to hook it to the 'car power supply terminal' for illumination what theis power supply terminal and does this mean the cd face wont light up unless its connected? ffs, the 120y had all the wires already hooked up in that lol

i dont wana have it constantly running otherwise ill keep getting flat batteries, so if i dont hook up the memory will the cd player still work but will switch off when i turn the ignition off??

switch it the head unit off with the b*tton or remove the face

i havnt come across this yet, my kenwood head unit only runs a power and mem wire with a ground. I take it the orange wire is for the backlight on the face or the security light?

i havent encountered this either ive only got the cd player manual with me at the moment, not the cd player so i cant say if its either, it just says in the manual its an illumination lead. im googling about it now

try the power and mem wire, if the radio switches on, try and put power on the illumination wire and see what happens
