Looks like an interesting concept. I can't decide whether this is going to be a massive success or a stupendous flop. |

It looks a bit tame at present.

It looks good to me and a lot like that Elite game too, saw a video where the developer was talking about it and showing more details and it looked great.

It looks like space invaders to me.

If the game is even remotely like they are hyping it up to be, even just having thousands upon thousand of different worlds to explore I would be happy.

Just watched some vids of this, I think it looks awesome. An almost infinite 'procedurally generated' universe to explore, it might be enough to tempt me to start gaming again(not so much as picked up a pad in around 2yrs).

It's quite a few more than that, in fact there are nearly 18.5quintillion planets, or 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 to be exact. That's Eighteen quintillion, four hundred and fourty six quadrillion, seven hundred and fourty four trillion, seventy three billion, seven hundred and nine million, five hundred and fifty one thousand, six hundred and sixteen. Or in other words, quite a LOT or exactly 1 shitload. So many in fact that it is reckoned you could play it 24/7 non stop for a thousand years and still only see less than 1'/. of the available planets. |

What I want to know is what's the objectives apart from get to the centre, is it just rinse and repeat every generated planet, is it just a repetitive 4 mission game where you just do the same thing over and over? Like go to planet, mine for materials, learn the logo, fight pirates, leave planet and again and again. With so many generated planets it will be hard to have stories and side missions and variations and once you do one planet the only thing that'll change is the planets. I want to play this because it sounds great but it might just get a little boring. Really hope I'm wrong. |

There is no storyline as such but there are different alien species to interact with and various factions within each species which will become either friendly or hostile depending on your interactions with them. So think epic outer space battles with hostile alien factions. Also over exploiting the resources of a particular planet or senselessly killing the native wildlife will draw the attention of 'sentinals' which will then try to kill you if you're being a bit of space knob. http://www.trustedreviews.com/no-man-s-sky-review |

You know what would be great though if they could make randomly generated conversations with randomly generated people that turns into randomly generated stories based on conversations. Someone needs to write a code for that that fits into randomly generated worlds and populations. I will buy it and play it at some point, just to explore the worlds it generates will be great to see but it does seem like a preview of what's to come in terms of technology and this is like a beginning showpiece. |
