When i buy a coffee i always buy a bottle of water too. I dont have an asbestos mouth so i drink the water to quench my thirst and then the coffee when its cooled enough. Same with food. I read somewhere that hunger n thirst are v similar. So i drink before i eat. Its a habit formed thru ocd.

@ wretchro - 2.03.16 - 10:46am Aspartame in no way helps with weight loss. It's a chemical that can have massive adverse effects on your body. Only cutting sugar helps weight loss. Replacing it with sugar free drinks (that contain aspartame) is pumping your body full of other problems further down the line. Stevia in its natural form contains no aspartame. I'd recommend if you can't cut sweet stuff to try that. It's a sweet leaf and as near as dammit to being ok. There is no toxicity in it. You can't claim aspartame helps you lose weight... Only cutting down on sugar can do that. And as for the assumption of myself having too much of it?. No. Youre incorrect. I did a self researched experiment under the supervision of my doctor (I was doing an allergy test at the same time to help determine what was affecting my mental and physical health. Ie cutting out and adding certain foods only over a set time period) and after a lengthy process off adding and cutting it was discovered that the most probable cause of my symptoms came from the aspartame (and chemicals in general) put in diet drinks/food. The results after taking them out of my diet completely were astounding. To make up for the lack of flavour company's need to add in chemicals to make it taste palatable. You're better off drinking full fat soda (as an example) once/twice a week than drinking a can a day of say, coke zero. The sugar has far less effect than pumping man made fillers into your body. The body doesnt know what to do with them and they create a massive imbalance in your bodies delicate chemistry which in turn can (and in my case, did) wreak havoc on my moods. But if you can't consume those drinks in moderation I'd say stevia would be a good move personally. There are diet drinks that contain stevia and no aspartame. It's just about really listening to your body and making notes of all the findings. I didn't claim that aspartame helps me lose weight, I said it was a hero to me and others interested in weight loss. You were the one that claimed it can speed up weight gain. Aspartame is one of the most rigorously tested food ingredients, and it has been deemed safe for human consumption by over 100 regulatory agencies in their respective countries including EFSA. It is about 200 times sweeter than sugar, so only very little is required to give a sweet flavor. The acceptable daily intake recommendations are 40-50mg per kg of body weight. So you'd have to drink about 15-18 cans a day to exceed the recommended amount. I can't speak for you or your mood swings. But it has not affected me in such a way. I personally have never been much for sugar. A year or so ago, I started counting calories and have since lost a lot about 20kg. As I began counting calories, my sweet tooth began craving more, and to satisfy that craving I eat fruit, occasionally dark chocolate and, while I don't drink a can of coke zero every day but often, you can't really tell me that aspartame speeds up weight gain nor affects my mood. |
