Please can u ppl help me out with this 1? When I make or receive calls I can't hear a word of what the other person is speaking but the person on the other side can hear me clearly. Iv tried restore settings, have also looked into the volume control and all seems ok. What must b the prob? Don't ask me to give it to the apple store as I'll have to send it abroad as that is where iv purchased it 4m |

Sounds like ur mic has broken, have you tried using the voice recorder app? Try that and see if it records any sound

The voice recorder is working fine. Whatever I record is being played back very nicely, loudly n clearly. Now what?

Maybe it's the proximity sensor? I had a faulty one and it kept muting the call with my face, does it work calling via loudspeaker?

Try the loudspeaker and headset with mic. I would bet it's the proximity sensor or mic. You can repair them yourself easily. Are you near or an Apple store or one you can call?

Also try plugging the headset in and out a few times, iirc there was a few people that had a few issues with their iPhone 4 still thinking the headset was plugged in

my gf had same problem with her ip4. she had to take it to nearest genious place and she got her phone e replaced

pw doesn't have a problem with the mic, other people hear him fine. He said the problem is hearing other people.

Just take it to the Apple store, they shouldn't deny you a repair because you bought it from a different country

I've never heard of an apple store saying that. Call Apple and tell them the problem. Get names of everyone you talk to. Tell them how the store treated you. That's just unacceptable. A warranty is a warranty, no matter where you bought it.
