'Detailed' You mean you washed it..?

Yeah but properly for a change. Even got the Pepsi Max out of the roof lining and interior.

I found dishwash water was best for interiors. Sprayed-on piss-weak Fairy liquid.. This is about as detailed as the Polo got. Dropped the clay-bar in the grit whilst opening it, so took it to a Polski car wash.. I walked away from the scene after binning this, so i haven't hoared it out in ages. Need to delete most of these pics. |

@ kelypso - 13.05.17 - 03:50am I'll be back when I mow the lawn, to pat myself on the back again. Halfway there. Calling it a win anyway. |

I've never used a clay bar... Baby wipes got most of the upholstery clean and damp microfibre the rest. Good tip though. Hey mikey, you probably have a tip for this? My headlight casings are hazy af and a mechanic friend suggested weak car polish solution buffed in with a microfibre, would that be your advice too? |

Plastic headlights going matt/yellow, not much cure for that. UV damage. A coat of laquer is probably best (or temporary versions such as linseed oil, clear shoe wax, tyre shine, hairspray etc). You can cut'n'polish the surface but it won't last. If they're glass lenses then there's one answer - wash them like you wash a bottle; remove headlights, fill with dishwash water, shake vigorously with your hand over the bulb hole, rinse, dry overnight face-up. They'll be amazing. Don't use any other detergent or place anything inside because the chrome can be very delicate. |
