Dave our lovely prime minister has passed a bill through allowing the gov to have unlimited access to every single piece of infomation that is sent and recieved from every single mobile phone in the uk, calls, txts and Internet usage weather you are suspected of a crime or not, fundamentally breaching our privacy contracts we have with our phone companies, and they are using eight hundred million pounds of our hard earned tax money to do it |

not entirely correct.. this is a power they had previously until the European court squashed it... only the time and dates of calls and texts will be accessed not the content themselves, it will still require authorisation from the home secretary in advance. |

They dont need to access you drive or phone because it all gets sent to data servers which they now have full access to

You're missing the point here.. it's already been shown that they mine EVERY bit of data, especially content.. having internet and phone companies keep logs of everybody for longer just makes it easier to identify the person whose emails they're reading is |

I'm sure they'll keep to that mel this deal was brokered by the main three parties behind closed doors ..presented on Tuesday ,ignored UN advice on Wednesday and is expected to be law by the end of the week ...thereby circumventing time for any opposition in parliament organising debate ..they move fast when they want eh ?

Watch the new defence budget. ..the bulk of the expenditure is going on surveillance hardware and technical backup to fight 'terrorism ' around 800 million I believe ....maybe I'm being cynical ,this is a gov that can't find 140 files of establishment paedophilles after all .. I trust them ....
