@ ogdenz - 1.02.18 - 09:18pm People who want to help refugees are responsible for the indigenous peoples plights being overlooked? yes, take a look at the recent influx of syrian refugees. We had ppl like lilly allen, and bob geldolph offering up rooms and unused mansions for these ppl to live in. Where were they when it came to helping our own homeless ? They have never offerd a room to an indigenous homeless person, who needs a room just as much as a refugee. |

in 2016 the UK spent 13.5 billion on overseas aid. The 5 largest recievers also happen to be the 5 most corrupt countries in the world and the biggest sponsers of state terrorisim Pakistan, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Syria. How much of this 13.5 billion actually got throu to helping ppl like it was intended to ? 13.5 billion can pay for a few more hospitals, pay to stop our old people dying in winter etc.

@ ogdenz - 2.02.18 - 12:10pm I don't think you are silly. I just wondered why you seemed to be advocating one people over another. Myself I just think we should help the person.. or people..most urgently in need first. We've taken more 'refugees' in the last 70 years than the entire aboriginal population. At roughly 800,000 individuals, i class them as endangered. We'll debate allowing the subsidised sydney suburbs living economic migrant to claim welfare for his multiple wives and 9 children While aboriginal communities aren't required to have external walls or running water in their 'homes' There are refugee camps in syria with better conditions. I'd say one group already appears much more important than the other. If only aboriginal issues got more likes on facebook. People might try to rectify this. |

Ahh yes..you haven't had long to rectify the indigenous aboriginal situation have you. Why aren't aboriginal communities required to have running water or external walls? How many of the refugees have 9 children?

Those indigenous people are sitting on a LOT of resources thanks to the Whitlam government (ousted in 1975 by a CIA coup). The sooner the government can eliminate indigenous people via a campaign of neglect the sooner they have easy access to those resources. Flooding the country with refugees is really a method of 'dilution', suddenly indigenous issues fade into the background in comparison. We're all much too busy these days erecting bollards everywhere and pumping huge amounts of money into national security. |
