When you step into Egypt: The locals there leave bathrooms flooded with water from their 'wudhu' ablutions. People argue openly in public and quite loudly Expect chaos on the roads Litter is terrible! The Nile polluted so it is advised to not soak your hand in it The canals polluted too The Giza compound is not deserted i.e. away from civilisation. It's right next to a slum or suburb Also drink bottled water or boil the tap water if it's urgent |

@ seifer - 1.07.18 - 10:14pm When you step into Egypt: The locals there leave bathrooms flooded with water from their 'wudhu' ablutions. The Nile polluted so it is advised to not soak your hand in it The canals polluted too The Giza compound is not deserted i.e. away from civilisation. It's right next to a slum or suburb Also drink bottled water or boil the tap water if it's urgent I agree, but I dont think anyone would dare swim in the Nile. Its not that kinda boy of water. And as a forever tourist Ive learned not to drink tap water in any country. I didnt see anyone arguing in the streets. In fact the men are very brotherly. Brotherly enough that we thought it was a little odd. Guys walked around hugging each other around the shoulders or waist like nothing. The only thing is ppl will try to sell you stuff, hassle, haggle and you just gotta be firm in your responses to indicate youre not interested. Everything seems dirty or polluted only because your ein the Sahara desert, theres sand everywhere. And those colossal monuments are breath taking and awe inspiring. |
