Where as in the story they extracted the DNA from a blood sucking mosquito trapped in amber to create the dinosaurs, now scientists have actually succeeded in doing something similar in real life. They extracted DNA from an extinct species of fruit fly trapped in amber and created living, flying, cloned copies of fruit flys from the time of the dinosaurs, by splicing the ancient DNA into eggs from a related species of fruit fly still existing today. very interesting post... I am not all that easy with it all... just because we can do something doesn't mean we should |
