france is a bit strange when it comes to religion.

Nothing in the Qur'an forbidding pictures. This comes from ridiculous and backwards hadith like all the stupidity that gets attached to Islam. There was a strong Islamic art movement even during Muhammads time. The Haj Exhibition at The British Museum is a very accurate anthology of this work. Its idolatry thats forbidden.

I'm all for freedom of expression, but like everything It isn't limitless, religious sensitivities must be taken into account, I'm also okay with face covering banned for security purpose, but the drawing makes no sense to me.

why must religious sensitivities be taken into account?

A person is naturally hurt whenever something he holds sacred is defiled or desecrated. I, myself consider it morally wrong to hurt the religious sensibilities of others, as it can disturb the peace and harmony of society and disrupt law and order in various ways.

cartoons don't disrupt peace, backward idiots reacting to them do. And why is it my problem if someones religious sensitivities are hurt? thats their problem not mine.
