I bought a samsung laptop a few months ago running the new generation of windows vista. Want to install windows 7 but concerned that it may void the guarantee. Has anybody managed to get around this successfully? Iam in the uk by the way. |

Read your guarantee, it more than likely will say it does not cover the software, so changing the OS wont make any difference to the guarantee.

Windows 8 killed my toshiba vista laptop, it would constantly reboot on a cold start, then settles down after many cycles, so I removed 8 reinstalled vista but same problem, installed Ubuntu same thing, never had this problem before installing windows 8, seems I got punished for taking advantage of the cheap 40 dollar windows 8 upgrade when it was first released, can I sue Microsoft ?

Its shame you dont have a copy of windows 7 which runs very well on vista laptops. Ive got a lot of laptops from different eras so I know. |

I consider any laptop that originally shipped with vista or newer to be a modern laptop. But those that originally shipped with xp are getting a bit past it now. Any laptop that sold with vista will run the newer operating systems
