Some T-mobile shops in the UK now have stock of the samsung galaxy s3 I9305 which is is the LTE/4G version of this phone. Specs remain largely unchanged apart from the addition of 4G and 2GB of ram, yes 2gb like the U.S version and what's more it retains its quad core spec. |

I havnt checked sim free prices yet but the t-mobile shop told me the new s3 is fifty pounds with a 36 pound a month contract compared to the standard s3 which is free on the same full monty tariff. They dont advise 4g tariffs for the new model yet untill the service is available which is meant to be the end of this month.

what mobile magazine claims the other networks won't get 4g untill early next year. 4g will only be available in some major cities to begin with. It also claims it will be up to 10 times faster than current 3g based techologies. Claims!

The new samsung galaxy note 2 is not 4g compatible but T-mobile told me an LTE version will follow. they said unless LTE is written on the back of the device its not 4g.

contrary to popular belief the s3 I9300 is not an LTE handset. many people think that the jellybean update will bring 4g to the original s3 which is false! The new s3 comes with jellybean out of the box hence the confusion. Its a hardware issue, not a firmware issue! And that comes from SAMSUNG UK TECHNICAL DEPT

(annoyingly some carphone warehouse stores have told customers the original s3 is an LTE phone which is incorrect so there are going to be a lot of dissapointed people who bought the phone with 4g in mind) all this has been confirmed from SAMSUNG UK TECHNICAL DEPT. So if you dispute it, dispute with them!

(the galaxy note 2 is not officially an LTE phone in the uk because it doesn't have the correct 4g radio band to be able to work on uk LTE according to mobile choice magazine)

i dont believe the gs3 lte has the same chip set as the 3g gs3 because lte is not compatable with the chips, hence why america get diff chips in there phone

that's what I thought untill I got the new gs3 myself! on the box it says 1.4ghz quad core and its the exynos 4412 chipset! this is for the I9305 galaxy S3 new uk version. this contrary to what the industry have claimed too, they said britains new S3 wouldn't have the exynos chipset cos it didn't support any 4g full stop. So that was obviously a load off bulls**t cos its exactly the same chipset as the i9300 original galaxy s3

but one thing is certain, for a phone to be compatible with britains LTE service it must cover the 1800mhz 4g/LTE uk band. So that is the key into discovering if it will work with our 4g.
