@ bigabwoi - 26.02.14 - 01:24pm S5 not exactly that much of an upgrade over the S4. So I agree with leon when he says that Samsung are doing what Apple are doing.. giving the bare minimum. Samsung is top of the range though... even with your 1000 links leon. Thats a fact. The Note devices just come along and s**t on every device on the market. And thats a fact And apparently the Samsung F-series is also on the way with a beastly thing. |

@ polo_011 - 25.02.14 - 07:25am I've started this topic as the other GS5 topic is rubbish and not informative at all. Samsung have finally revealed the much anticipated 5th generation Galaxy S model with a 5.1inch HD1080P Super AMOLED display, Finger Print Scanner, Heart Rate Monitor, 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 CPU, 2GB RAM, 16MP Camera with UHD@30FPS and HD1080P@60FPS video recording with improved HDR, AR And other Effects and Shooting modes, Water+Dust Resistance with an IP67 rating, 2800mAh battery, and a new TouchWiz UI along with Android4.4.2 KitKat. It will be available on April 11 in 150 Countries in multiple colours (Black, White,Blue and Copper): http://is.gd/YBfjiq are you able to clear something up? Is this a 64 bit cpu or not? And is the ram really 3gb or 2gb? Because nearly every single recent website I visit is giving detailing different specs, and thats ignoring the future octa core version. Some sites claim the 801 to be 32 bit, while others say 64 bit, same story with the ram, 2gb or 3gb, so who are you supposed to believe? |

@banbury | 26 February 14 | |
although your 2gb claim sounds more believable

ive even tried googling the snapdragon 801 and very few sites tell you if its 32 or 64 bit, and the ones that do give conflicting information. However it is obviously built on the same platform as the 800, still in the same series, so logically that should mean it is infact 32 bit? Despite all the hype about the S5 being the first 64 bit droid phone! One site I visited described the cpu as a minor update to the 800

It's 2GB RAM, and a 32bit Snapdragon 801 as I said in the 1st post, those are specs straight from Samsung and Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 801 is a 32bit chip, its the AC version of the S800, its GPU is clocked faster, same with DSP and CPU and 5.0 eMMC: http://is.gd/tgtxuC

At the end of the day it's a bit meh. Was hoping for it to look a bit more like the artist renditions of it leading up to its release. Still doesn't look like a premium phone. Also hate that it takes samsung so long to release firmware updates for their phones.

so all the media fanfare in the uk claiming it to be the first 64 bit droid was a load of cr*p obviously. I believe you polo_001 for one reason, because I know the 801 is built on the same platform as the 800 which is obviously 32 bit.
