Yep, it can be disabled however and with it being OLED, when you disable notch it completely disappears.

@3mel Yep, it's got the GPU Turbo. Mine is not absolute final FW, so I am still waiting for the retail FW to be pushed through when they are done, then I can be more thorough in terms of pushing this beast The CPU in this thing is ludicrous, super fast and cool |

@crail, the point is to reduce all bezels around the device, but also the main reason it's there is due to the Facial Recognition sensors (Flood Illuminator, Dot Projector and Infrared sensors), that help with more secure facial recognition. BTW, Huawei have kept the IR Blaster in this baby, absolutely impressive how much hardware they packed in this thing, I thought Samsung had done a great job, but this thing seems to take every a step further. 3x Optical Zoom in the Camera, Super MACRO Mode and Ultra wide camera lense. Kind of stuff we used to think was impossible in the Symbian days. Also this phone takes Wireless charging to a new level, it turns into a Wireless Powerbank, you can charge another phone with it or charge your wireless headphones etc... It's just insanity. Loving it. |

For those who are into gaming, the Mate 20 Pro is looking to be the best for this in 2018, it's using a more powerful version of the GPU found in the Note9: https
