what the reason for it ? the phone I'm using now stopped getting updates about 4 years ago but it's still on PIE with this months security updates. that said Huawei make the phone modders lives very difficult, not sure you can root their latest phones which would rule out community solutions. |

The reasons are the spying and being chinese in general. The order came from some high officials in USA. Google has to obey.

It is also part of the embargo and commerce war against China.

or the NSA can't hack a chipset that's been developed in China and aren't going to have access to the 5G networks the way they want ? Chinese phones (and presumably their infrastructure too) don't use western developed chip architecture and the chances of laying your hands on pre compiled CPU operating code from China are slim to none. |

Google have lifted the ban temporarily for 90 days. What a mess. Anyway, it seems Huawei will be launching its own OS which it has been working in for the past 5 or so years and it will support all Android Apps. I on the other hand have a Space Grey iPhone X S Max 256GB on the way, but will keep my P30 Pro and watch this space from the Apple penthouse known as iOS, apparently they serve good sushi |
