Yep! Ima huge landcruiser fan. Ive worked fo landrover fo over 18mnths nd i realised that landrover is no competition watsoever to a cruiser. I had 2 cruisers maself, a 89 236turbo nd a 2003 4.2diesel. Im currently plannin on buyin a code3 80series stationwagon nd do sum nice conv to d 4.5 24v motor. I mite open a post on d project later.

i did some googling and my bosses is a 74 model ute, or 'pickup'. how are the newer models compared to the old school ones? no doubt theyd be better but i mean if you brought a brand new 4wd nowadays youd literally cry if you drove it out bush and got the paintwork scratched,

one of the reasons i want one is because a place i go fishing nearby is an absolute to get to, especially if youre driving a datsun 120 thats only 4 inches off the ground, whereas from what ive seen today the cruiser plows through deep mud puddles, flattens sand hills and takes dirt road divots like someone flicking away a fly.

the one i drove is in perfect condition for its age, he bought it for 15 grand in 1992, and its a good investment seeing that it keeps its value and runs fine no matter what. ideally, id like to get one for at least 7 grand but ill do some research first

D old landcruisers was tuf as nails like d wills jeep nd datsun patrol. Only dwnside is ther riding comfort. D newer 70series landcruiser has coilspring suspention nd betr roadholding. Wat has ur boss got, petrol or diesel? D diesels is d H nd 2H.. Their diehard bt slow. D gasoline version is d 2Fcarb nd pulls like a train. D 80series im interested in 24v motor is based on d old 2F str8 6 motor.

theres an excellent 4wd track here and i wouldnt mind going to it, theyve even got a dedicated track for the guys with highly modified 4wds to jump them, last year a guy in a hilux broke the record and jumped 26 metres and got 1000 dollars in prize money, though it wont pay for the rear diff he destroyed in the process any good 4wd parks there?
