My current car, which does 0-60 in six seconds. It drinks less fuel than the mrs 207 1.6 diesel. Simple philosophy - take one 1.6 16v vvt Polo GTi engine, put fireblade motorbike carbs on it,bolt a long ratio gearbox to it,and put it in a car weighing 600kgs without the engine. Result? A car half the weight of a new Golf GTi and faster - and more efficient than a Polo Bluemotion.

Course,if i nail it at silly speeds it gets through fuel. But as it pulls well from 1,000rpm i can just drive everywhere in 5th gear, never needing to exceed 2.500rpm, so ive always got a slow burn and few times a minute. At traffic speed. Tips for efficient driving? Keep your distance, then you dont have to brake just because the car in front is doing so. And braking cost fuel,as you were clearly going too quick for the impending conditions.
