Its a 2013 dodge challenger .recently I have noticed in some rpm range a very loud whistle is heard from motor.my guess is it originates from turbo. Is it bad sign? No other issues are observed no drop of power or no bad smoke. |

That's a symptom of either a vacuum leak or that your turbocharger needs lubrication. If it is the turbocharger, you got problems.

its a hemi v8. and yes its turbo charger. recently Greedy turbotimer was added

I checked up with some mechanics who work on modern cars and they said it could be the bearings going bad.

does it have to do anything with K and N cool air intake? it started almost within 2 days after installing it.. Bearings how expensive are those ?

Think turbocharger rebuild. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the cool air intake unless you used to much force while installing it.

@ ghostrider - 16.01.14 - 02:55am turbo rebuild? man that car is almost new A rebuild is suggested because the problem is most likely the bearings. Replacing just the bearings is just ignoring the other problems bad bearings cause. |
