i'd stick to a bike oil- bikes generally set higher and put the oil under more stress than a car so stick with an oil formulated for bikes

your bike handbook should tell you the minimum spec oil to use. As long as the oil you buy is the same, it will be ok

another point is the clutch..although some four stroke bike motors run a dry sump set up,the clutches are usually a wet bath type, car oils aren't designed with clutch plates in mind, they can cause slippage and odd engagement etc. New gen 4 stroke dirt bike motor like yz 450 prefer to run a semi synthetic gearbox oil, apparantly full synthetic is too slick for the clutch or something.

some people say it's ok to use car oil such as a 10-40w car engine oil for the engine side of things, but they contain friction modifiers and as such arent really suitable for the clutch and gearbox-this only applies to motors with separate systems..either way,use a proper bike spec oil type and you'll have no problems.

Depends on the bike. I have used car oil before. But you need to know more than just the general specs.
