I think it works the way he does things. staying anonymous takes him out of the limelight so much that it's not pushed down peeps throats so makes it that people still jus stumble across his work and hav the thinking of surprise and agreement. it doesn't seem so obvious as Phallica states.

The anonymity helps his image, (his face is online, just some chubby guy, no mystique) it's a business and it's made sure attention is paid to any new bit of work. I doubt he even applies his stencil work himself these days, there's nothing to it. It's cutesy, I guess, the stencils are quaint. The political and social commentary is schoolboy schtick, an easily identifiable commodity. Banksy's recent pop at advertisers shows how much of a hypocritical t*sser he actually is.
