Went to the cinema to see The Last Jedi, gotta say it's awesome and totally different than other Star Wars films and they completely changed the rules. It's like it's gone off in a totally different direction and as Luke said in the trailer it's not going to go the way you think. I think it's as good as or maybe better than The Empire Strikes Back, Johnson pimped Star Wars. |

I wanted Captain Peavey to whack General Hux a few times around the head with a frying pan

got seriously mixed feelings about this film and the last two. somehow the onscreen universe feels smaller with each new film. then there's the story or lack of it, it's like they took a partial script from Rebels made that half the film. if you really really sit down and think about it, what would you tell someone the story of this or Awakens was about ? what happened to the good story leading to script drafts ? |

oh no we need to wipe out the last of our lifetime mortal enemies who are hiding behind that big door. I know, instead of effortlessly destroying it from space as always, let's fly some ships down to the surface towing a cannon. oh oh and instead just firing the bloody thing, we should hang around and wait for some decrepit ships not entirely capable of flight to catch us up in fact let's appear to be as close to stationary as we can manage boys... any questions ? George Lucas for all his faults based Star Wars on Joseph Campbell's The Heroes Journey. so that film taps into something within us and feels like it has a mythological core, because it's actually about someone. I enjoyed the prequels more than the Awakens and TLJ |

I'm waiting until the 3rd part of the trilogy, this reminds me of Empire Strikes Back where the Emperor was killed without getting to know him and the rebels had all but lost and Han was frozen and taken away so there wasn't really much more until Return of The Jedi came out and it added more to Empire Strikes Back and even fans weren't happy with it but it became their best film after the last of the trilogy. I read a lot of the reviews and a lot are saying about how the Finn story was a waste of time but for me it shows not every plan they try to do goes right just like in real life and it bugs me in films where everything they do goes right and it makes it too predictable. I thought the prequels were awful political space dramas with one of the worst actors I've seen on screen play Anakin. |

I agree with you about story lines not always working out plus I kinda liked Rose. running out of fuel across a whole fleet though ? boats and planes have a nav officer to make sure that never happens and that was half the movie. crop dusters that barely fly, cannons that have to be put close to their targets. |

Something does bug me what was pointed out and I hate when someone points out things that takes a little bit of enjoyment away it was the shield on the destroyer or lack of one, I'm wondering if you get close enough to a big ship you can hit them if they have shields because they do fly their ships into other ships to blow them up. I did really like it though and want to watch it again but only if it's a good picture cause I saw it in the cinema and hope Ron Howard does the Han Solo film justice. Oh and things always keep failing on me and not working right, amount if times I have to fix things pfft. |
