The 1800p cut back from 2160p will be noticable the same way 1080p and 1440p.

@ spartan2 - 20.10.16 - 10:36pm It won't even matter that much at that resolution. It's one thing seeing the difference between well upscaled 1600 x 900 and 1920 x 1080 native on a 50 inch HDTV. Entirely another trying to pick apart 3840 x 2160 and for example 3200 x 1800 on the same size screen. If Scorpio can do native 4K then Pro should be able to do 3200 x 1800 on the same game which is still a massive resolution. It really is. It'll be even harder to tell apart on anything less than some enormous screen in your home. Diminishing returns for sure. It's obvious for phones, most human eyes can easily see a gap between 720p and FHD 1080p phone screens, but it's actually very difficult seeing much of a difference between UHD and just FHD on a phone screen despite having 4x the resolution. The more resolution the less difference anyone can pick out. Fact. So you keep telling yourself . Get a 4k TV hook up your PC play something like gta5 with enhancer mod . We heard the same thing back with ps3/Xbox that no one could tell the difference between 720p/1080 . Fact is scorpio will murder ps4 at 4k even if it has no games it's still way more power and Sony fangirls are crying about it making up excuses why 4k isn't that great . |

@ alvar89 - 21.10.16 - 05:39am The 1800p cut back from 2160p will be noticable the same way 1080p and 1440p. Lol I'm not saying it won't be noticeable, I'm saying it'll be far less noticeable than 900p to 1080p and 1080 to 1440. 3200 x 1800 is a big big resolution. Most people aren't even accustomed to just 2560 x 1440. To actually see a big difference you need a big big big HDTV and sit close to it. It's a fact of human biology. The gap visible between well upscaled 3200 x 1800 and 3840 x 2160 on a 55 inch UHD screen from say 6 feet away will be next to nothing, far smaller than current disparity between the consoles on an average 40+ incher. If you have a smaller screen or sit further away is pretty much physiologically impossible to see the difference..... This is why it matters less whether Pro can't do native 4K and Scorpio can. Pro will have been out a whole year and have a good userbase. |

@ alvar89 - 21.10.16 - 05:36am Phones yes but monitors and tv big difference in detail. Fhd text looks like a blurry brick wall. On phones the text crispness is noticable also between qhd and fhd. The difference between a 4k and fhd is 4x compared to the small bump to 1440 from 1080. And really you haven't compared a QHD or a Z5 to a FHD one clearly. Put a FHD phone to your nose, you can barely even see the pixels the density is so high. You need a magnifying glass lol. 4K is super overkill for phone displays and most of the time looks no better. A very good FHD phone screen hands down beats an average 4k one. This is with a viewing distance of ooohhh, about two inches depending on your nose Point being that there is a definite limit to human perception of resolution, and the more resolution there is the less tangible the difference is for sure. The polygon demonstration of diminishing returns comes to mind. |

Its pointless on phone yes i agree on that. I have had 2 qhd phones so i have a bit of experience. On a pc monitor going from fhd to 4k is huge. All the extra grisp workspace and quality details and text. In games its a true upgrade one of the best available. On a monitor you are close also. A 27inch fhd monitor is a blurry brick wall compared to the 28inch uhd screens. |
