I just got an Xbox one S. I did the initial setup, updated my games etc...but does it need to be connected to the internet 24/7. If I don't connect within a 24 hours will it still function? |

There is no set time you have to connected, you need to buy a Microsoft Xbox live subscription and you have that until it runs out.

I don't have Xbox live at the moment. It's working pretty well, I'm just asking must it always be connected to the internet , if I disconnect my line will the Xbox still work? Do I need to be connected to save my games or is that only when I want to do a backup on my saves? Must the console always be on the internet to function.

I think if you want cloud saves you need Internet or multiplayer games, you should really ask someone who's got an xbox

When the Xbox One was initially released Microsoft said it had to be connected constantly but the backlash they had from it meant they changed it before launch

I tested it out myself ,You don't need internet after the initial update but some games are so broken they need to be patched and that requires internet.
