i jus found out that, the 3g iphone, that is sellin 4 200dollers, is gna b sellin in south africa 4 7500rand, datz the news i got 2day, 4rm a contact in incredible connection. The reason, is dat, all the xtra costs, wil go 2wards shippin, n importa taxes. WAT A LOAD OF cr*p! n also, if dat is gna b da price in SA, then, in da UK, u guys can xpect it 2 b nearly 450-500 euro. |

see now technicaly the iphone should cost R1800-R2200 because on apple.com the iphone is 199 and the appl ipod nano is 189 so if they saying al this bulls**t about import costs then they just scaming ur because 4 now they the only1 releasing the iphone...if they keep it R1800-R2200 they gona have to ship a s**tload of them cauz then it will be the cheapest gps enabled cell yet!

No one has said its going to be R8000. Secondly, though the iPod Nano may be 189 US dollars, we are priced similarly to Europe. Go check their iPod prices and compare them to ours. Thirdly, companies have to make a profit, so importing it, paying taxes and profits all contribute to higher prices. That being said, I very very highly doubt it will be that expensive. The nano 4gb is R1500 and 189 d,that R1500 includes importing, shiping, tax and profit so in my eyes the iphone shouldnt b more than R2000. Screw ur 2grand pay in,the prob is that vodacom is the monopoly of the iphone as they the only guys thats seling it,lets hope apple gives em the big you if they planing on overcharging us,i ordered one on prepaid,will c when it gets here...whenever that is

They aren't allowed to sell it for over 199 dollars, I don't see why people don't understand that. Apple strictly forbid it. Vodacom had to agree to their rules because they could have handed it to MTN just as well.
