They don't own it. Gradiente SA, a Brazilian company, owns patent to the word iphone through 2018. Hard times ahead for Apple. Gradiente SA, the real iphone creators, are to release a line of iphones running Android. |

You'll find that legally, that'll make a bit of a difference. That and apple have sold millions. It won't turn out that bad for apple other than them giving this Brazilian firm a small royalty. Can't imagine they'll be that bothered
