Right, I'm not sure what the 'dot' icon is exactly... You see at the top of the screen, there's the 'bars' then the network provider and then a 'dot.' Just lately my 'dot' keeps disappearing for hours at a time... When this happens I can still make calls but don't seem to get any Internet connection, so I always figured that it was to signify if you have Internet connection or not... However, the last few days I've been getting a back-log of text messages, so is the absence of this 'dot' the reason why? |

It usually happens when I'm at work, where the reception is a bit hit and miss... But I can usually get the 'dot' back by just switching to aeroplane mode and then back again... Or if that doesn't work I just reboot my phone... Today I was at home where the reception should be good anyway, but my 'dot' disappeared and I tried both things but it still didnt come back... I don't know if its a problem with my phone or if O2 are having problems... If I understood what the 'dot' was, it might give me a clue what's causing the problem... |

So it's absence would be responsible for text messages not coming through?

if your texts are sent via mobile data.. I've seen a few phones that had such an option...

GPRS ? The worst I've seen is an ''E'' which I'm sure means edge and that's very rare, it's either 3G 4g or weak or no signal
