its the same as the 02 xda exec, the mda is the tmobile version as you know and the spv m5000 is the orange version. they are all made by a company called HTC. ive just got my exec but havnt had much chance to use it yet. one magazine claimed it to be the most advanced phone outside of japan, but thats often a matter of opinion. it has a new version of windows mobile called windows mobile 5

one advantage with the new os is that it allows the handset to have what is known as persistant memory. the older devices that run on widows mobile 2003 have a allways had a memory loss problem in that if the back up battery becomes completely exhausted you lose your data. which is a problem if you havnt got it backed up on your PC. windows mobile 5 apparantly solves this problem once and for all

the trade of for persistant memory is that some progammes run slightly slower. the new software also improves battery life, although iam not sure exactly how. maybe its related to the persistant memory.

its certainly no halfway house, not with a 500mhz processor or whatever it is. somrthing like that lol

yeah 520mhz n 43.5MB RAM n 3g wi-fi n all the rest,lol..anyway looking forward to using it..or should that be trying to use it!ol,neva had a windows smartphone b4,but the reviews seem to suggest this is better than any symbian device, then again depends what your looking for in a phone-mind u as the woman at t-mob said-u cant really call the mda pro a phone!

suppose iam fortunate that i have been using an xda 2 for 18 months so i have some insight. i found it hard at first, but you get used to it. i wasnt interested in upgrading to the xda 2s or xda 2i cos i knew a 3g version would come and my waiting has paid off. the xda 2s added wi fi and a slide down keyboard where as the xda 2i did away with the keyboard but had an improved 1.3 mega pixel camera

the xda 2 and 2s had a vga camera. the xda 2i is till current for those who arent bothered about 3g. personally i think windows mobile is better for web surfing than symbian. after all the web was designed around windows not symbian.
