What phone @youwho? It should work on any WinMo or Symbian device - generally pressing the green 'call' button on your phone should activate it, but there's also an on-screen voice search button, doesn't that work either? Do you get the white 'speak now' screen at all? Sorry for so many questions, but this works for everyone.

Are you sure you've downloaded the latest version? Check 'help/about' and it should say 'version 4.1.0' - if it does it should be worth reporting it to them as a bug, if not go to google.com/gmm with your DEFAULT browser to download the correct version.

Also in this version (at last) is an 'upgrade' option, (menu/help). It's greyed-out at the time of posting, but will presumably become active once a new version is available, which'll save checking the site or this topic.

i dont have the voice search or the navigation feature available. im using htc magic and im from Australia

Well the Magic is an Android phone, but the feature list here: http://ri.ms/wioo shows that Navigation and Voice Search are available in the Android version. AsH said in an earlier post - ensure you have the latest version (check 'help/about') which should be 4.1 although my understanding was that voice search had been available for Android for some time.
