created text (remember that?) roughly in the vicinity of your shadow. Now use the 'move' tool to move your pretty text to a position over the shadow - left and up if you want a drop shadow. When you're happy go to the little arrow icon at the top right of the screen (just under 'ok') and choose 'merge visible'. Your text and shadow will now be an integral image and you can crop or resize your logo

CREATING A GRADIENT BUTTON. Firstly choose from the menu 'image/new', the size is up to you, but ensure the background is TRANSPARENT if you want to use it on a wap or website. Choose your desired gradient colour using the gradient tool below the 'paintbrush' icon, then drag your stylus across the screen and sample the darkest part of the result using the 'eyedropper

tool. Now go to: 'menu/edit/undo' (this step is purely to place the general gradient colour in the internal clipboard memory). Now choose the 'round rectangle' icon from below the text selection icon. Drag your stylus across the screen until your desired shape and size is achieved. It will be filled with the colour you copied to clipboard earlier. Now choose

the 'magic wand' tool and hit anywhere on the screen - your filled-in round rectangle will be highlighted by the 'marching ants', now go to: 'menu/select/select inverse' and click. Now go to the arrow symbol at the top right of the screen and select 'new layer'. Now go to the gradient icon, and once selected draw a STRAIGHT line from well above the rectangle to its base. If you

don't like the initial result, you can draw and re-draw the line until the desired result is achieved. You'll now have a gradient button you can place text onto. 'But garion' you cry 'why did we put that initial base layer down?'. Well that's because you might like to have a border around your button which very effectively highlights all your hard gradient work. To do this: use the magic wand

tool anywhere on the screen, your gradient button will be highlighted by the 'marching ants', now go to: 'menu/select/modify/contract' and choose a value - I'd suggest 3 to 4 pixels. Now go to: 'menu/select/select inverse', then 'menu/edit/cut', an area 3 or 4 pixels wide will be cut from the border of your gradient button, revealing the base colour beneath. Resize and

IMPROVING YOUR PHOTOS. If your device has a really dodgy camera, or you're taking indoor pics in low light (or in a room with energy-saving bulbs) and you're left with a poor result, open the image in Pocket Artist and go to: 'menu/filter/noise/despeckle' it'll cycle for a while depending on the size of the image, now go to: 'menu/filter/noise/reduce grain', it'll cycle again. Now go to:

'menu/adjust/auto levels' and when this process is finished go to: 'menu/adjust/auto contrast'. This should spiffy up your photo no end (technical term, lol) although there are of course several other enhancements you can use.

CREATING A REALLY BORING FORUM POST. Firstly open your favourite browser, then go to: 'Prodigits'. Now enter the result of your hours of careful thought and experimentation, then go away and get drunk. Simmer gently...
