Heartwarming pictures show an injured and sick owl hugging the man who helped nurse her back to healthThe pictures, which were posted on Facebook by Vancleave, Mississippi-based Wild at Heart Rescue on June 4, quickly racked up over 1,000 likes on the social network. Wild at Heart Rescue Founder and Director Missy Dubuisson told FoxNews.com that the great horned owl, dubbed GiGi, was brought to the center in late May. The bird was suffering from a severe concussion, a crop infection, possibly caused by eating rotten food, as well as a respiratory infection. In the Facebook post, Wild at Heart Rescue explained that Pojecky was checking on his little patient when she threw her wings around him and gave him a hug. In one photo the caregiver is seen calming the bird. The other photo shows pure contentment on Gigis face, according to the rescue center, which says that the birds do express their gratitude to carers. This was just a moment that I captured in time, there are no words to express, Dubuisson told FoxNews.com. Doug just has a way with the birds that is unbelieveable. |

I rescued a duck from a dog the other day. Said duck looked poorly before the dog, (not mine) had a go at it.. Anyway, I carried that duck 40 foot or so back to the river and I swear it nestled in against my chest... The downside to this story is I saw it dead on the riverbank 2 days later..

@ vedder - 8.06.16 - 11:10pm I rescued a duck from a dog the other day. Said duck looked poorly before the dog, (not mine) had a go at it.. Ducks are so affectionate that it surprised me, they have to be the be most affectionate birds around. The first thing that came in my mind when I saw this news article was that owl was acting like a duck. |

Also, I was fairly bemused that the Duck hadn't shat all over my t-shirt Then, just as I'd put it back in the water and examined my s**t -free t-shirt, some bird in a tree deposited one all over my shoulder... How does that work..
