It's all about viscosity. If your car requires 0w/30 and that's the viscosity the engine requires then it's fine. If your engine needs 20w/50 then you might have a problem. Find out what oil you need, do an oil change. |

This happened to me once when I changed cars and forgot ,I put @a fivers worth of petrol in before I realised ...I phoned a friend right away ,and his advice worked ... Don't start the engine ! Fill your tank up with the correct fuel ,then go a wee run in it ... No engine was harmed in the making of this info post |

I've done the same, but I'm smart - When I put ten quid of petrol in the ex's diesel Golf, I still had enough room to pour two 5L bottles of mineral engine oil in, so I did that. The oil and petrol mixed together made a suitable diesel substitute and the car ran fine on it. |
