All year round 'garden lighting' is definitely more of a thing nowadays than it's ever been. Most of the time it looks very tacky and could easily be mistaken for inappropriately timed xmas decorations.

my mums into that kinda stuff. She lives in a retirement flat, she has a very small bit of garden, outside her door. Its like 3 feet by 3 feet. She has crammed every last inch of it with, solar lights of every discription. Theres dogs, fairys, windmills birds etc, if it lights up my mum has it outside her back door 3 other ladys who live in the same complex also have hundreds of lighty up things outside too, must be an old lady thing ?

@ badapple - 12.10.20 - 12:41pm my mums into that kinda stuff. She lives in a retirement flat, she has a very small bit of garden, outside her door. Its like 3 feet by 3 feet. Theres dogs, fairys, windmills birds etc, if it lights up my mum has it outside her back door 3 other ladys who live in the same complex also have hundreds of lighty up things outside too, must be an old lady thing ? Older ladies are definitely a significant contributing factor to the phenomenon but they're not the only ones. I've seen them all over the place in gardens, from families with kids with fairy lights up all year round to the keen gardener types trying to follow the latest garden trends and emulate the mood lighting they've seen in some 'lifestyle garden' display at the Chelsea Flower Show. I blame the garden centres, they're full of that shoite. |

There's a house in Milton Keynes, over near Willen Lake, with a big Christmas tree in their little front garden. It's wrapped in Halloween stuff.. obviously..
