@ dodgey - 15.12.18 - 01:39pm Buckfast is made by monks in England apparantly but nobody is England drinks it, usually drank but chavs in trackies and celtic shirts. Was. Buckfast tonic wine was produced by the monks of Buckfast Abbey in Devon but it is now made under license by a commercial producer. The monks at Buckfast copied the idea from the Benedictine monks in France who were making the similarly foul tasting Benedictine wine, which is so named after their religious order. QI fact of the day: The members of 1 working men's club in Burnley, Lancashire, account for almost all of the Benedictine being drunk in Britain per year, nobody else likes it but they can't seem to get enough of the stuff. |

@ obi_jon - 15.12.18 - 01:58pm Ideally should also have a string of onions/garlic draped around their neck whilst riding a bicycle. Only 3pc of journeys are taken by bicycle in France because the French associate cycling with sport, not popping to the shops etc. I read somewhere about the government trying to change this to deal with emissions and improving health. |

@ trunking - 10.12.18 - 01:03pm What is your country usually known for? What comes to mind whenever it's mentioned? For example, the Netherlands is known for its cheese or Switzerland is known for its chocolate. Haggis. |
