This is a true story, just wonder whether you feel the person should pay the vet or not. |

A woman found an injured cat so she took it to the vets. The vet examined it and decided it was so injured the kindest thing to do was to put it to sleep. The vet then charged a fee to the woman. Do you think thats fair? |

I can see both sides. The vet wants paying but the woman didn't own the cat. She just acted out of kindness.

The vet shouldnt have charged. They have got to giv emergency treatment, which in this case sadly was euthanasia. We wouldnt have charged her. The pentobarbitone costs v little, and would only have used around 5ml to put the cat to sleep.

Didn't that happen to birdy's daughter the other week?

This happened to my daughter just the other day. She took in a cat that had been hit by a car and they made her pay (only 10 dollars though) to put it down. No, I didn't think it was fair, even for that small amount. Wasn't her cat. Wish I'd been there, they wouldn't have got the ten dollars. |

The cats already dead, just walk away without paying, not her cat, not her problem.

Vets always want to put animals down. It's their default action, I am certain a great many vets do not care about animal welfare just their pay packet. re this case then the vet is entitled to put a bill in.
