@ cerberus611 - 16.07.19 - 06:01pm New model predicts that we're probably the only advanced civilisation in the observable universe Here's the Drake's Equation explained: The Drake Equation, a mathematical formula for the probability of finding life or advanced civilisations in the universe. Saw a YouTube vid the other day by Vsauce - How Much of the Earth Can You See at Once?, and I'm convinced that everyone is talking sh*t! Our own sun, its light, dissipates from 91 light years from view. The stars you see all around you are much bigger, and brighter, than the Sun. Imagine all the other solar systems, with their worlds, that are hidden out there.. and we're expanding from the Universe's Centre/ Big Bang event location. |

91 Light Years only?! 'Our own Sun, from a 1'000th of a light year away looks just like every other star' - a single point (from the naked eye) 23:22 mins in approx. |

NASA astronaut accused of hacking ex-spouses bank account from space In a highly unexpected example of what its now possible to do in space, a NASA astronaut has been accused of breaking into her ex-spouses bank accounts while she was on board the International Space Station. The bizarre accusation was made against decorated NASA astronaut Anne McClain, who is embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with her former partner Summer Worden. Wordens suspicions were raised when she noticed that her bank account was accessed without her permission from a NASA-affiliated computer network. After doing some further digging, the former Air Force intelligence officer accused McClain of breaking into her bank accounts while she was on board the ISS. http://futurism.com/scientists-cable-earth-moon An interesting concept. Certainly more plausible than the space elevator idea. Basically the idea is to attach a cable made of carbon nanotubes to the moon and run it almost all the way back down to the Earth. The unattached end of the cable would then effectively be left hanging in a near earth orbit, where it would be within easy reach. A short range rocket trip would then take astronauts, materials and equipment upto the cable before being transported along it and up to the moon. |
