@ mikeymk - 27.03.19 - 09:39pm Let me think of a black person who made a racist remark against ''white people'' (her words) and got to keep her civil service job.. Oh, that'll be Labour's shadow home secretary, Diane Abbott! But we turn a blind eye to that. Wouldn't do if it was a fkn Tory though, would we?! This |

@ dan27notts - 27.03.19 - 09:51pm I think this instance kind of asks the question, does it make you a racist if you say something racist? What she said was undeniably racist but does that mean she has a genuine predejuce against Asian people? you don't say racist crap just because... you say it because you are thinking it and you feel it. that's my take on it and no one would be able convince me otherwise |

She can be held liable for actions while off duty. All employers can do this as an employees actions even while not at work can bring the company into disrepute. Not sure about the specific facts in this case but generally government employees like police are harder to get rid off because of police unions.

@ ladibud - 28.03.19 - 09:07am common knowledge that what you do after hours reflects on your job. ppl have been fired for Facebook posts in their own time Tho if we are going to use so called race hate laws'/rules it would be nice if they applied to everyone. I don't think police or anyone else should be exempt but then i don't see why she wasnt arrested / charged |
