by all accounts churchill was an arsehole anyway so he probably just shrugged it off, and carried on, with his day. pretty sure if it was me picking throu what remained of my home, and he came along all cheery like and said ''Carry on for the good of britain'' he would of been told to go away.

I can't say anymore than I've heard about the circumstantial specifics. lots of people would have the sense not to further anger people who've possibly just lost everything they own or worse. He wouldn't have been making them angry. He didn't bomb them did he? Huge support in the East End for the war against Germany |

Churchill was hated by many Brits. I remember my grandfather and his mates slagging him off. Many people of that generation absolutely hated the racist fkr..and rightly so.
