Perhaps the difference is in the frequency of the action, not the type. Unless you were hit most days, and expected to be hit whenever you got home from school.. Pound for pound, I'm pretty sure abuse is fairly equal in its negative consequence. |

Sometimes if u smack a child straight down once firmly and finish it ,it will make them think and that's enough that's what I got but never very often

i dont know when or why it happend but it seems that the role of being in charge has changed from the parent being in charge and telling the kids what to do, to now its the kids in charge telling the parents I see it all day every day on my bus. I joined the prison service 13 years ago and i know from that experience that there was a whole generation of feral kids running round. What we see today in the form of ''snowflakes'', is caused by a lack of parental discipline. I do not have kids but if i did then if they warrented a smack, they would get a smack, and me being the parent would be judge, jury and exicutioner.

there was no such thing as abuse in the 60s you got a slap round the head for basically anything, even the coppers would clip you round the ear, the teachers would cane or slipper you. If you did something naughty you got a scalped botty. Your parents wanted to instill a bit of fear in you. Then it was just the threat of getting a slap would keep you inline.
