Do they ever get better? I've had a rescue dog for almost a month. He has been getting progressively more aggressive since week 2. Tonight he was cuddling up to me and I was stroking him slowly. I told him to get off the couch cos it was bedtime and he attacked me. I have bite marks on my arm and fingers. Brusies on both. And my shoulder damaged too. Do rescue dogs ever change? How many wounds should I endear? He can be really sweet but he just flips. What would you do? |

Sounds like a traumatized puppy. I knew some cats that were in defense mode all the time and any sudden moves close to them lead to hissing, scratching etc. Previous owner's kid had mistreated them, pulling tails and so on...

Who knows what hes has to go through in his time so far? Dogs take a lot of building up trust if they have been abused in the past. You have only had him a short time so far its going to take a little longer for him to fully trust you. Speak with your vet and maybe speak to a dog behavioural expert who may be able to give you more guidance on this. Good luck. You might find after time he will be an amazing dog.

Get it put down, if it bites the hand that feeds it, it will carry on biting you.

Get a stun gun. I made my own. I've never been able to test it, cos it's like a million volts, but it'll do the job if a dog wants to skin me. |

Get rid of it. That's not appropriate at all.

get the dogs history from the rescue center, they should at least know where it was before they had it. the staff there should know it's temperament pretty well too. |
