Should a person lie in order to secure employment? Obvs you shouldn't lie to gain a pilot's job or a surgeon etc ..but do you feel it's acceptable to bullsh*t your way into a job? |

Is honesty the best policy? 'Yes I have 10 years experience'..blah blah..when you haven't...give me the job! Or is an honest person more deserving? |

I think you have to sell yourself somehow,it's competitive out there.my 20 year old goddaughter is struggling with applications because she doesnt have experience yet.you have to be a bit creative i suppose

If you have 10 years experience then you have 10 years of references.

If you really want the job and you're unemployed and telling the truth won't get you the job , then yes .... what have you to lose ?

Depends on the job. Should a car salesman not demonstrate there skill in making something look better than it is? Might get some points in certain fields for being a good bullsh*t artist.

Put it another way, how would you react if you were an employer and you found out that someone in your employment had lied to get the job? Would you fire the person immediately, or would you just let it go?
