@ 3mel - 19.10.23 - 08:05pm I can't be the only one who never enjoyed his TV presence at all can I ? not saying I knew he was a wrong-un, didn't even know there was such a thing, but there always was something unlikable or mildly off putting about him. the show format was great but I always lost a bit of interest when it was back to the studio and his stupid chair. My mum hates him, she always said there was something not right about him, my dad wouldn't let us watch Jim'll fix it |

He had a lot of people scared,ordinary nurses,regular people etc. Imagine being a nurse at Stoke Mandeville and knowing what he is up to but not being able to tell..as it may harm many more children. |

@tasti2 | 19 October 23 | |
The nurses was terrified of him, he was very manipulative

He had a lot of influence on a lot of places. I read he was at one point advising the Israeli government...a DJ doing that? Lots of coppers were mates with him,especially in Leeds. Back to his house for drinks and God knows what else. |

@ tasti2 - 19.10.23 - 08:22pm The nurses was terrified of him, he was very manipulative Expose him and he could say 'You were involved too'! Expose him and the hospitals lose millions of pounds..that help kids. He could say to a nurse..let me do what I do or many thousands of kids won't get the treatment they need in this hospital. |

I am quite curious about Steve coogan's performance in this because i think he's great.but have probably decided i wouldn't be able to stomach it really And yeah,Savile always came across as unpleasant |

@tasti2 | 19 October 23 | |
Coogan did nail it though it was uncanny

The brat was born at Stoke Mandeville, she was born very sick and we spent all of our time there, in turns. Saville was still alive at the time, but it was all surfacing in the news. Walking through the hospital where the Jimmy's ward was, and it was business as usual. I couldn't see how people could just carry on, when it was becoming apparent this ward had been created for the reasons it had. I have no interest in watching this Coogan thing, though it won't be half the story anyway. |

@ ogdenz - 19.10.23 - 08:09pm Sadly I always enjoyed Jim'll fix it. Mind you at that age I never had any knowledge of adult things. Before he was exposed a mate of mine said he had heard serious rumors,I was gobsmacked tbh. It's the same with Garry Glitter in that it's easy to see now in retrospect. Yeah, pretty much the same here, I was too young to be aware of anything like that, it was just what was on the telly at the time. I remember he was regularly made fun of by comedians and impressionists for his 'eccentricity' but it wasn't until later on and I was well into my teens that I started getting the creepy vibes from him, then hearing the rumours and realising what some of the 'jokes' about him were hinting at, or in some cases made perfectly obvious what they implied. And yes, hindsight is a wonderful thing. |
