in the old days to become a pastor, ud have to work ur way up the ranks under a pastor. U were made to do stuff like cleaning the church, becoming an usher providing seats for people, working with the youth and drugies, musician, then put in a rank as a decon, evangelist, teacher in specific tasks and fields etc. according to ur gifts.
